Project 52: Week 11: Lyrics of Life

Week 11 assignment: take a picture that represents a song, a line from a song, or multiple lines from a song.

If you had mentioned this song to me a couple months ago I would have had no idea what song it was or who sang it or even who the band was.

But ever since I heard a couple months ago I have not been able to get away from it.
It pops up on Pandora all the time.
It rings through my thoughts almost everyday.

It is: Beautiful Things
By: Gungor
Please listen: HERE

Lyrics:
All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

You make me new, You are making me new
You make me new, You are making me new

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

This last one is the actual submission because it needed to be put together so it was all one image.
Plus, you see the story that way.
Though, it’s harder to get the whole picture because they’re so small.

What this song and these images mean to me:

The passing from:
old to new
chaos to order
ugly to beautiful
empty to full
death to life

He has made me new.
He has made order.
He has made me beautiful.
He has made me full.
He has given me life.
And I am forever grateful.

  1. He makes beauty from ashes, strength from fear is what I’m thinking of now.

A beautiful story in photos to go with those lyrics. I’m glad I read further down your blog from the Slice of Life post I first came to see even if now I’m all teary eyed.

p.s. we love Skippy Jon Jones too. 🙂
